A stretch of the visceral joy of loud, distorted guitars heard in small, packed rooms… about the experience of the song, not how well it might sell afterward. That was Weekend.” – NY Times
Weekend maintains a pitch-perfect blend of sweet and sour, not to mention past and present.”

“This band thrives with a mix of swirling guitars, distorted vocals, and bass lines that move. Exhilarating.”Esquire
“Taut post-punk…a bleak marathon of rhythm.”– Spin
Following glowing reviews from their CMJ 2013 performances, Brooklyn-via-San Fran post- punkers Weekend just announced another handful of North American tour dates in January 2014 after a November overseas tour, including dates with Deafheaven.
On their upcoming tours, Weekend remain focused on translating their new roaring, critically-acclaimed sophomore album Jinx(7/23, Slumberland Records) into a live show that brings this evocative album to life. The result is a performance that is equal parts electricity and beauty – pounding rhythms and dark post-punk vibes shoved through a shoegaze filter and glossed over with honey-sweet melodies and Shaun’s distant, wailing vocals. The band just spoke with Andrew Pointras over at Death + Taxes Magazine about CMJ and upcoming show dates – frontman Shaun Durkan explains, “We’re figuring out how to turn those recorded songs into something a little different live, and hone our strengths as a live band.”
Bandmates Shaun Durkan (vocals, bass), Kevin Johnson (guitar), Abe Pedroza (drums) and Nick Ray (bass) will likely be contributing to spikes in earplug sales as they hit multiple North American cities in 2014, turning up the volume in NYC, Chicago, Madison and more.
